At Circle Park, intervention services are available to individuals referred by the Solicitor’s Office or a school authority. These programs are designed to educate participants about the effects of alcohol and other substances on both their physical and mental health.

Through evidence-based education and skill-building, participants learn to recognize risk factors, make informed decisions, develop healthy coping strategies, and understand the long-term consequences of substance use. Our goal is to equip individuals with the knowledge and tools needed to make healthier choices and reduce future risk.

Pre-Trial Intervention (PTI)

Pre-Trial Intervention is designed to divert those who may have a substance use disorder away from the criminal justice system and into behavioral health services. In coordination with the 12th Judicial Circuit Solicitor’s Office, the PTI program has proven to be effective for youthful offenders, first-time offenders, and others whose offenses are related to alcohol and other drugs.

Alcohol Education Program

AEP is a thirteen-hour educational program that teaches youth about the negative consequences of underage drinking and its potentially devastating impact on individuals and their families. Referrals are made to the program through the 12th Judicial Circuit Solicitor’s office.

Tobacco Education Program

TEP is a four-hour tobacco education and awareness program targeting youth under the age of 18. The program is in response to The Underage Tobacco Act of 2006, which makes it illegal for anyone under the age of 18 to possess, purchase, or use tobacco products in South Carolina. Referrals to the program are made through the judicial system, and it is also available to any youth in the community under the age of 18.
